Help is often closer than you think. Tell AI your goal and what you already have, and it helps you sort people, tools, places and things to learn onto one page.
It's a one-page list of everything you already have for one goal: people you know, tools, places and things you could learn. AI helps you remember and sort.
Goals stall when you feel stuck and alone. Often help is a friend who knows websites, a free class at the library, or a tool you already have but never use.
A made-up example: a gift shop owner wanted to start shipping orders. AI helped her list a neighbor who used to work at a shipping store, the post office down the street and a free class on packing. She was closer than she thought.
Open a free AI tool, like ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. Leave out names, phone numbers and anything private. Copy this starter prompt, fill in the parts in brackets, and paste it in.
I run a small business: [what you do]. My goal: [one goal] What I already have that might help: [people, tools, places, skills] Sort it into 4 groups: people, tools, places, things to learn. Don't make up names or prices.
What a good answer looks like: A short list in four groups, all from you. If it adds a tool you've never heard of, ask "Is this free? What does it do?"
The fuller lesson in the Member library we're building adds memory-jogging questions from the AI before it sorts, and marking what you can use right away. See what Member will include
The takeaway: Put your helpers and tools on one page, and the goal feels closer.
One specific goal, like taking phone orders or starting a newsletter. One at a time.
No. The free plan of ChatGPT works. Gemini, Copilot and Claude work too.
Ask what it does and whether it's free. Then decide for yourself.
